From sparks of inspiration to finished music from the soul.
Supporting both the technical craft and the deeper creative process.
Â
Over the past year, I’ve felt myself entering a new phase of my creative life.
After more than a decade of releasing music as VOLO, I’m still as passionate about music as ever, but I’m less interested in expansion, status, or touring for their own sake. These days, I’m more interested in cultivating health, authenticity, sustainability, and a creative life that feels genuinely meaningful.
One thing I’ve found particularly fulfilling along the way has been working one-on-one with other artists and I’m excited to be offering mentorship and lessons in music production.Â
I can certainly help with the technical side of music production, deep diving into Ableton, workflow, sound design, arrangement, mixing, and all the practical bits in between. But making music isn’t just about learning software. It’s a psycho-spiritual journey.
It asks us to confront self-doubt, perfectionism, comparison, creative blocks, and the innermost parts of ourselves. For me, music has been an incredibly potent way to express and understand my emotions, and to access textures of experience that words alone can’t quite reach. In many ways, music saved my life and continues to vivify my spirit.Â
Because of that, what interests me most isn’t simply teaching techniques or shortcuts, but to  support the deeper creative process itself.

Some people are trying to figure out where to begin (anyone who has opened Ableton for the first time knows the feeling). Others have years of experience, countless ideas, and a hard drive full of unfinished projects without a clear path forward.
My aim is to meet you where you are in the process, offering personalized support to help you reach your goals. Whether that’s finishing an EP or LP, or simply developing a workflow that allows you to enjoy the flow state of creating music.
Although much of my own path has been self-guided, shaped by experimentation, persistence, and plenty of trial and error – I’ve come to appreciate how valuable it can be to have another set of eyes and ears on the process. What I can offer is an outside perspective, honest feedback, and lessons gathered through years of devotion to the craft.

“There’s that old saying ‘When the student is ready, the teacher will appear’. I’ve spent years self-learning DAWless music production, but had hit a plateau, and needed some direction to reinvigorate my progress.Â
VOLO met me right where I was at, equipping me with a tailored full stack of immediately useful advice, ranging from guidance and mindset for a continuously productive creative workflow, down to specific technical details to keep in mind when producing and arranging. Through the whole interaction, VOLO was kind, thoughtful, and deeply insightful – he’s an expert of his craft. I’m so grateful for his help, and inspired to push on with my musical journey!”Â

“About a year ago, I took a number of lessons with VOLO, and they were awesome. I had a ton of fun. It all happened kind of serendipitously—I emailed him out of the blue, he wrote back, and it turned into this really fun, natural experience. We ended up doing a number of lessons together.
The level of knowledge he has about the music production process is incredible. He’s especially great at answering really specific questions, whether it’s how to get a project started, how to finish a project—which I think we’re all struggling with all the time—or how to actually get a song across the finish line. He also has all sorts of tips, tricks, and little techniques, from automation to workflow, that help you get your music sounding the way you want it to.
So if you’re thinking about working with Oliver, I highly recommend it. You’ll have a great time. He’s a super cool guy, super chill, really easy to learn from, and just a genuinely kind person you’ll enjoy spending time with. And on top of that, he’s very, very good at what he does. “
